John Edward Tuchardt
John Edward Tuchardt, 89, of Lebanon passed away March 27, 2023.
He was born June 1, 1933, in Portland to Ed Long and Margaret Tuchardt.
He attended Oakridge High school.
He served in the United States Navy from 1952 until 1956 when he was honorably discharged. He was a Boatswain's Mate, serving during the Korean War.
John married Mayzell L. Thomas in Reno, Nev., on Feb. 14, 1957. They were married for 63 years.
John worked at a moving and storage business. He was a member of Fir Lawn Lutheran Church in Sweet Home. He enjoyed square dancing, camping, fishing and hunting.
John is survived by his son, Chuck Tuchardt of Lebanon; daughter Debra Smith of Salem; sisters Elaine Long and Susan Long, both of Portland; and brothers Carl Long of Foster, Dennis Long of Lowell, and Fred Long of Idaho.
Sweet Home Funeral Chapel is handling the arrangements.
