Medics respond to a crash at 2:52 p.m. Wednesday, July 12, on Highway 20 and 53rd Avenue. According to police, a 2001 Chevrolet Cavalier operated by David Housen, 72, of Sweet Home was pulling out onto Highway 20 from 53rd Avenue when it was struck by an eastbound 2005 Honda Element operated by Carrie Barton, 47, of Silverton. Housen and his wife Joanne Housen, 71 and also of Sweet Home, were transported to the hospital.
