Sweet Home man dies in single vehicle Highway 228 crash

On Saturday, Sept. 2 at approximately 8:52 p.m., the Oregon State Police responded to a single vehicle crash on Highway 228, near milepost 19, in Linn County.
The preliminary investigation indicated a Subaru WRX, operated by Joshua C. Jefferson, 39, of Sweet Home, was traveling eastbound when it left the roadway and struck several trees. Jefferson was ejected from the vehicle and declared deceased at the scene.
Jefferson was originally from Anchorage, Alaska, according to his social media account. He went to Lebanon High School and had worked at Cascade Pacific Pulp LLC in Halsey since 2008.
