Santiam Four Wheel Drive Assn. used Lost Prairie in the Willamette National Forest as its base camp for a wide area cleanup over the weekend. In partnership with the Forest Service and other four-wheel clubs between Salem and Eugene, as many as 27 "rigs" and 90 people helped cover 20 miles to pick up trash that measured 8 feet high and 15 feet in diameter, plus a truck cab and derelict station wagon.
The Sweet Home telephone exchange had a 7.5% increase in telephone stations this past year, an increase of 337 exchanges. Increases in exchanges in Sweet Home, Lebanon and Browns...
