One of the first projects Mrs. Cheryl Jones' third grade class at Oak Heights Elementary gets to do every school year is build a bridge using their own imagination and, maybe, a little help from mom and dad.

This was the first year third grade teacher Mrs. Laurel Adams participated in the project.

"Mrs. Jones said they love the bridge project and it's a really huge thing," Adams said.

Prior to building their bridges, the classes read the book, "Pop's Bridge," a story about two boys whose fathers take part in building and painting the Golden Gate Bridge. Then the students can choose whether...
