Burn ban lifted

October 18, 2023

Oregon has traded the smoke and flames of wildfire season for red and orange leaves, rain and Autumn temperatures. The Oregon Department of Forestry officially ended the fire season on October 10.

Now, residents throughout Linn County can get started on backyard burning. Plumes of light gray smoke coiled from the countryside along Highway 228 from Sweet Home to I-5 on Wednesday, October 12.

Burn complaints should be directed to the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality. Call 1-888-997-7888.

Backyard burn season ends December 15.
