1973 - The first annual Table Football Tournament winner Glen Hansen accepts his award from teachers Steve Fletcher (left) and Tim Mausen (right). The tournament, organized by Art Teacher Penny Nix and held at the Junior High School during lunch break, was attended by large numbers of excited participants.

Arlen Moore has been designing, building and flying aircraft since 1957, and it's not unusual to see his own home-built craft spiral into the airspace above Sweet Home on weekends. Moore constructed two gliders and an airplane, and is currently working on two other planes. He unofficially holds the Oregon State altitude record for gliders by navigating air currents at the Eastern slope at around 17,000 feet.
