Gerald Neil Davidson, 87, of Sweet Home passed away October 19, 2023.

He was born May 6, 1936 to L.R. "Dave" and E. Evangeline (Logan) Davidson in Pendleton.

He joined the Army in 1961, was in the Korean Conflict, and received an honorable discharge in July of 1965.

Gerald moved to Sweet Home as a child. He attended college in Boise, Idaho, receiving his bachelors degree in business administration. In October 1979 he moved to Barrow, Alaska, until June 1987, then moved back to Sweet Home where he has lived since June 1988.

He was an accountant from an early age, working in accounting departments for frozen food processing in Idaho, Cape Smythe Air, North Slope Borough, Naval Arctic Research Lab (NARL) in Alaska, and at White's Electronics until February 1996.

Gerald loved to snow ski; he was a member of Ski Patrol at Hoodoo. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking and "changing the world."

He is survived by his wife Elizabeth Davidson of Sweet Home, daughter Elizabeth V.A. Davidson of Pennsylvania, stepchildren: Katherine E. Thrash of Sweet Home, Michael P. Ryan of Springfield, grandson, James (Shay) McLeister and great-grandson, Henry both of Pocatello, Idaho. Preceded in death by his parents Dave and Vangie, and by his first wife Sharon Davidson.

Viewing will be at 10 a.m. - Noon Wednesday November 1st at Sweet Home Funeral Chapel. Graveside service with military honors will follow at 1 pm at Gilliland Cemetery.
