All-out for final football game of regular season

The Sweet Home Huskies brought everything to the table for their final game of the regular season against Philomath. While the Warriors took the win 33-14 on Friday, October 27, the Huskies managed to put the most points on the board in this year’s no-win season.

It’s a substantial gain from their senior night match against Stayton, which ended with no points on the board for the Huskies. The last time the team scored more than 10 points was against Cottage Grove in September, which saw a tantalizing, close outcome of 14-12.

Two of the team’s 14 points against Philomath were scored with a two-point conversion pass following the Huskies’ first touchdown. The Warriors managed to block the extra point after their second touchdown.

The team is bidding farewell to several seniors, including quarterback Kaden Miller and offensive line Nathan Aker. Head coach Ryan Adams sees lots of potential in quarterback Austin Welch, a junior. The pressure is on to bring back more wins next season.
