Yeack wins third Street Stocks race

Kyle Yeack of Lebanon, formerly of Sweet Home, won the Street Stocks division race at the Lebanon Speedway Saturday night, Aug. 9, after working his way through the pack for his third victory of the year.

Yeack started towards the back and found his way to the front in the Roy and Haven Doran-owned Doran Racing #47 Monte Carlo.

But once he had the lead, Yeack wasn’t out of the woods just yet as he had to keep Albany’s Bricen James, driving the James Gang Pizza/Lebanon Auto Body/Rainbow Rentals/Schram Brothers Excavating #13 Monte Carlo, in check.

Yeack held on for the win, making it the third time that he has won in the Street Stocks this year.

In the X-Factor Race Cars Super Late Models the division made their return to the historic 1/3-mile clay oval after being several weeks away.

The main event was a caution- plagued affair but when it was all said and done Tangent’s Trevor Glaser, driving the Thomas Hunziker-owned Spirit Fueled Racing/Gray’s Automotive/AM-1 Roofing #38 Victory Circle, wound up in victory lane to win his first race of the year after taking over the top spot with about 15 laps remaining.

Matt Mitchell had the field covered in the Wirth Wireless IMCA Modified feature. Mitchell led the most laps of the race, including the ones that would count. It marked the third time that Mitchell would put his A-Line Concrete Cutting/Shepard Performance/Van Raden Industries/Interstate Crane Rentals #15M Rayburn in the winner’s circle.

Veteran chauffeur Sandy Sanders had a clean sweep in the Albany & Eastern Railroad Sportsman ranks. Sanders, in his Royalty Homes #43 Avenger, took over the lead around the halfway mark and, once in the lead, pulled away.

On Saturday, Aug. 16, Willamette Speedway will host the final leg of the Summer Sizzle Tour.

This race is for Kage Karts and will feature the best drivers on the entire Pacific Coast.
