Bethany Gingerich, 17, is a junior at Sweet Home High School.
She is the daughter of Troy and Deanna Gingerich.
She is active in track, cross country, soccer and cross-fit.
In the community, she is involved in the Key Club, Community Chapel and the Oregon Jamboree.
“I am participating on the Sportsman’s Holiday Court because I want to become involved with my community and not just be a part of it but be able to experience helping and what help is necessary,” Gingerich said.
“My best friend would say I am optimistic, looking on the bright side of things, down to earth, and easy to get along with anybody and have a good time.”
After high school, she plans to attend college on academic and athletic scholarships, continuing her love with running and studying to be an athletic trainer.
“My life goals are to be able to help others and live a strong life the way God has designed me,” Gingerich said.
For a trip around the world, the theme of Sportsman’s Holiday this year, “I would travel to San Antonio de las Minas, Mexico, because I have close family-like relations with the people there from my Spring Break missions trips the last two years,” Gingerich said. “Everyone there is overwhelmed with acceptance and pure joy.
“What I love most about Sweet Home is the close community we have. We are always brought together in hard times and in good times. Sweet Home is the perfect definition of what community looks like, and I wouldn’t want to grow up in any other place.”
