JessiLynn Thomas, 17, is a junior at Sweet Home High School.
She is the daughter of Richard and Cathrine Thomas.
She competes in soccer, cheerleading and track.
As a volunteer, she has served on the Sweet Home Peer Court, coached AYSO soccer and helped a hearing-impaired girl.
“I like to have fun,” Thomas said. “I’m easy to talk to and like adventures. I am participating in Sportsman’s Holiday because I love to help people and I would like to do more in this community and it would be an honor.”
Her favorite part of the Sweet Home community is the Sportsman’s Holiday fireworks display.
“I have gone there all my life and love to see all the people come together to see the fireworks. It’s also a great opportunity to meet new people,” Thomas said.
For her trip around the world, the theme of Sportsman’s Holiday this year, “I would travel to Fiji because it’s beautiful, very lush – green – and the people call it the home of happiness,” Thomas said. “I also would like to see a third-world country and see how other people live in the environment.”
After high school, Thomas plans to enter the diagnostic imaging program at Linn-Benton Community College, transfer to a four-year school and then specialize in magnetic resonance imaging.
“My life goal is to be successful in life and achieve all my goals I have planned out, and during this time I would like to help as many I can and volunteer as much as I can in life because I have been blessed in life and would like to help more people.”
