5K Tuesday on Corvallis golf course

Best in the West Events will hold its final socially distanced 5K cross-country run at starting at 5:45 p.m. p.m. Tuesday. Aug. 25, on the front 9 of Trysting Tree Golf Course in Corvallis.

The race will be the third in a series held on the final Tuesday of each month this summer at the golf course, 34028 NE Electric Road .

Cost is $20, which includes chip timing, a rolling start with sign-up times, one free beer or cider, five-year age groups in results (no age group prizes) and prizes for top three males and females overall and top masters athlete (45+).

There are no shirts or finisher prizes.

Optional add-ons include: live music (a blues band) starting at 6 p.m. ($5 cover per person, BYO blanket/chairs or just sit in the grass), and food from Tree House Grill for $14 a plate. The menu includes pulled pork or chicken, brisket, vegan option, beans, coleslaw, watermelon and green salad.

Masks are required except when running or racing and when eating or drinking, or when seated at the concert. Runners are required to carry their masks and use them when passing within 6 feet of another competitor, and when at the results kiosk.

Water bottles are available for finishers to grab off a table.

All registration is online, at runsignup.com/par5k, ending at 5:30 p.m. on Aug. 25.

Rolling start is from 5:45 to 6:30 p.m., with scheduled start windows.
