Memorial Day services are scheduled for 9:30 a.m. at Pioneer Cemetery in Brownsville and 10:30 a.m. at Crawfordsville Cemetery.
Physical distancing is required and members of the general public should watch from their vehicles.
A Memorial Day service will follow at noon at Gilliland Cemetery.
Elks plan Drago
golf tournament
The Sweet Home Elks are holding their annual Howard Drago Memorial Golf Tournament June 19-21 in a little different fashion than usual.
Each team will receive 18 holes of golf for each player, a coupon to redeem for a burger and two beverages that can be used for up to one year at the Elks or Pineway (after reopening), and a sleeve of golf balls. Golfers will have the option of playing anytime that weekend to score, or may save their golfing for another day that they choose.
Cost for a foursome is $240. Individual registration is $60. Proceeds go to various kids programs sponsored by the Elks.

free firewood
Personal firewood cutting is free to the general public through June 1 on Willamette National Forest.
No permit will be required during that period, the U.S. Forest Service has announced.
Woodcutters can take up to four cords of firewood for personal use. Firewood cutting information and guidelines are available at go.usa.gov/xvrDp.
Handouts will also be made available to pick up from the front doors at the Sweet Home Ranger District headquarters at 4431 Highway 20, by emailing [email protected] , or by calling (541) 367-5168.
Meals on Wheels

Meals on Wheels offers lunch deliveries from the Sweet Home Community Center to seniors over 60 on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays.
The menu on Friday, May 22, is pork choppie with pork gravy.
No lunch will be served Monday, May 25, due to the Memorial Day holiday.
The menu on Tuesday, May 26, is kielbasa sausage.
