Portland funk/folk band to play Point

The Van Rontens will provide entertainment at The Point at 7 p.m. Friday, July 14.

They play a blend of folk, funk, grass and gypsy music.

Lead vocalist and song writer Melodie Ayres moved from Kansas last summer and moved to Portland.

Celtic music on tap

at winery Friday

The Kelt Ocalypse will play lyrical Celtic music at Marks Ridge Winery at 7 p.m. Friday, July 14.

Cost is $10.

Bring cheese, crackers or picnic dinner. No outside alcohol is allowed.

Lebanon Concert in the Park July 18

Lebanon’s summer Concerts in the Park series takes place from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesdays at Ralston Park, at Park and Oak streets.

They are open to the public at no cost.

Thunder Road, a five-piece band from McMinnnville, specializing in rock ’n country, will perform July 18.

Meals on Wheels, also known as Your Table or Ours, offers lunch at the Sweet Home Community Center to seniors over 60 at noon on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays.

The Senior Center serves a separate lunch on Wednesdays.

First-time diners are invited to come in and have a free lunch to give it a try.

Suggested donation is $3.50. All meals are served with milk, coffee or tea upon request and diabetic desserts are available on request.

The menu on Friday, July 14, is chicken or egg salad sandwich half on wheat bread, vegetarian vegetable soup, creamy coleslaw and chilled peaches.

The menu on Monday, July 17, is roast pork with orange glaze or turkey apple meatballs, Colcannon potatoes, lima beans, cracked wheat bread and hermit bar.

The menu on Tuesday, July 18, is ham and Swiss or shaved turkey sandwich half on wheat bread, minestrone soup, country slaw and applesauce.

Volunteers are needed for both kitchen help and meal delivery.
