Master Gardener

volunteers sought

Do you visit gardens on vacation? Stop neighbors in their yards to ask about their plants? Give free advice to fellow shoppers at the nursery? Love gardening, want to know more and enjoy giving back to your community?

Consider joining the Oregon State University Extension Linn County Master Gardener program.

People certified as Master Gardener volunteers are required to participate in a class one day a week, for 11 consecutive weeks in January, February and March for a total of 66 hours of classroom instruction. Some previous gardening experience is helpful, but not a requirement. Then there are a required 66 hours of volunteer service—usually just the start of a lifetime of garden-related volunteering, friendship and fun as a member of the Linn County Master Gardener Association.

Applications and more information about the 2016 course is available by visiting http://extension.oregonstate.edu/linn/osu-extension-master-gardener-program-0,
