More than $1 million is going to help Oregon’s student veterans through a grant from the Oregon Department of Veterans’ Affairs. Linn Benton Community College is among the campuses awarded. They’ll get more than $69,000 through the Campus Veteran Resource Center Grant.
Veteran Resource Center Manager Rob Camp said the grant was awarded for “a variety of things including getting LBCC Veteran Students connected with Student Veterans of America, implementing pilot programs supporting veteran academic achievement, and hosting veteran events.”
The Veteran Resource Center is an exclusive space on campus for people who served in the military. According to LBCC’s website, their resource center offers “couches, coffee, computers” and other amenities.
