Two accidents, one scene

One fender-bender led to another Sunday night on Highway 20 near milepost 26. Oregon State Police say the first crash happened at about 7:30 p.m. when 43-year-old Sweet Home resident Kimberley Brock slowed her Kia Sportage for a dog in the road. Troopers say that’s when 43-year-old Edward Newell IV hit her car from behind with his Subaru Impreza. No injuries were reported in the crash, but Newell was arrested and charged with driving while suspended or revoked.

Troopers said the second crash happened at about 8 p.m. when 21-year-old Sweet Home resident Courtnie Woodward started braking her Chevy Traverse for an ambulance responding to the first crash. 31-year-old Eugene resident Alexis Hanna, driving a Ford Edge, then hit her car from behind, according to OSP. No one was hurt in that crash, but both vehicles were towed from the scene. No arrests or citations were made to either driver involved.
