Truck stolen in Lebanon recovered in Sweet Home after citizen spots it, gets rammed

The Linn County Sheriff’s Office recovered a stolen truck Saturday, April 1, after a good Samaritan located the vehicle driving on Marks Rige Road and attempted to follow it.

The 2018 Chevy Duramax work truck was reported stolen by Troy Tocher on March 31 after it was taken from his home in Lebanon.

An unidentified person spotted the truck in Sweet Home the following morning and told deputies he followed the truck on Marks Ridge Road when it came back toward him at a high rate of speed.

He tried to block the road in an attempt to stop the truck, but the suspect instead rammed his vehicle multiple times.

LCSO searched the area and deployed a drone. Later, a nearby property owner located the abandoned stolen vehicle in the 29600 block of Berlin Road. Several items were reported missing, including a Snap On toolbox and tools.

The truck was returned to its owner. Sheriff Michelle Duncan said LCSO is still investigating possible suspects.
