School district names ESPY and attendance honorees

Sweet Home School District’s ESPY honorees for the month of February include, in the first photo, from left: Riley Allison, third grade, Hawthorne; Olivia Saveskie, eighth grade, Sweet Home Junior High; Wade Lawson, fourth grade, Sweet Home Charter School; Kiera Tyree, senior, Sweet Home High School; Gannon Yeager, first grade, Foster; Henry Gainer, seventh grade, Sweet Home Junior High; Mark Nichols, first grade, Holley; and Marcillia Holifield, kindergarten, Oak Heights.

Other Exceptional Student Performance This Year honorees, who were unavailable for the photo, are Tristan Cutsforth, fourth grade, Charter School; Kelso Ellis, junior, Sweet Home High School; Ryan Lehr, first grade, Foster; and Brooklynne Zehner, third grade, Hawthorne. The ESPY Award is given to students who are doing well academically, and have an exceptionally positive attitude about school, demonstrate respect and responsibility toward staff and their peers, show courage by not conforming to peer pressure and refuse to accept anyone who bullies.

Hawthorne Principal Aaron Huff, in the third photo, holds the Attendance Trophy awarded to his school for the highest percentage of attendance during the month of January.
