Lebanon Fire District personnel investigated a structure fire reported Friday evening, Jan. 7, in the 1800 block of S. Main St.
According to an LFD report, the battalion chief arrived shortly before 10 p.m. but found no signs of a blaze. After meeting with the onsite manager, he learned of a fire in one of the units. Its occupants had allegedly left their belongings in the space, then returned to a smoke-filled room and alerted the manager, who saw no flames but used an extinguisher to make sure the fire was out. The LFD added in a news release that the fire apparently consumed all the room’s oxygen, but went out before its occupants came back.
Crews checked the room and extinguished remaining hot spots. Personnel were on scene for an hour.
No injuries were reported. The incident remains under investigation.
