A Salem man was killed Tuesday afternoon, Aug. 2, in a rollover crash on Interstate 5 north of Albany, Oregon State Police reported.
According to OSP, troopers and emergency personnel responded about 1:15 p.m. to the crash near milepost 236.
A preliminary investigation revealed that a white box truck operated by Jay Ward, 46, of Salem, was northbound when, for unknown reasons, it left the roadway and ran onto the median shoulder.
After going on the median, the truck rolled multiple times before coming to rest.
Ward was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger identified as Davis Ward, 20, of Salem, was transported to the hospital with serious injuries.
