A fire destroyed a shop and damaged two vehicles Monday morning, July 25, at 44060 Wiley Creek Drive.
ODF Sweet Home Unit personnel arrived with four engines ahead of SHFAD to the 11:01 a.m. call and, Tyler said, kept the fire from moving to a nearby home and spreading in the dry terrain.
Thanks to seasonal staffing funded by a grant from the Office of the Oregon State Fire Marshall, SHFAD was able to respond immediately with a staffed engine and a water tender for rural water supply, it said in a news release.
Tyler was unable to provide the residents’ names and said a damage estimate had not been determined. He said the cause was undetermined as well.
