SH man arrested for attempted murder, robbery

A Sweet Home man was arrested March 8 on suspicion of attempted murder and robbery stemming from a January incident in Lebanon, police said.

Jason Andrew Scott, 34, was taken into custody at Cheadle Lake Storage by the Lebanon Police Department, working with members of the Linn Interagency Narcotics Enforcement team and the Albany Police Department’s K-9 unit.

He was wanted in connection with a Jan. 26 assault and attempted robbery at 1188 S. Main St. in Lebanon that ended with shots fired into a fleeing vehicle. No injuries were reported. Scott was identified as the suspect, police said, with multiple items of related evidence found at the scene.

Scott was lodged at the Linn County Jail on a series of charges, including attempted murder, fourth-degree assault, felon in possession of a firearm and unlawful use of a weapon. He also has multiple Linn County Circuit Court failure-to-appear warrants and an Oregon State Parole Board warrant for parole violation, in addition to a menacing and disorderly conduct charge related to other incidents.
