June 28

6:10 a.m. – Michael James Runyan arrested on Sweet Home Municipal Court warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of driving under the influence of intoxicants, Grants Pass Police Department.

7:28 a.m. – Caller reported theft of laptop from vehicle in 26000 block Brush Creek/Highway 228. Value estimate not available.

12:27 p.m. – Caller reports a motor vehicle crash involving a garbage truck at 7th Avenue and Oak Terrace. Officer responded, report taken; damage under $2,500. Nicole Charlene Frame, 34, cited for driving uninsured.

3:15 p.m. – Zachary Wisterman, 40, of Lebanon, Stacey Gambino, 37, of Salem, and James Gambino, 67, of Idanha, arrested for second-degree criminal trespass after deputies responded to illegal camp on Cascade Timber property, 51900 block Highway 20. Area was clearly posted “No Camping. Private Property.” All were cited and released.

6:53 p.m. – John Chelstad, 55, cited for dog as public nuisance, 1950 Main St. Sweet Home Police Department.

8:40 p.m. – Rondel Allen Adams, 30, cited and released on Sweet Home Municipal Court warrant for failure to comply on an original charge of third-degree theft. Cited and released on Lebanon Municipal Court warrant for driving with a suspended license. Cited and released on Linn County Circuit Court warrant for unauthorized use of a vehicle. Cited and released on Albany Municipal Court warrant for second degree disorderly conduct, 1711 9th Avenue.

9:51 p.m. – Altercation reported at Sunnyside dock, 44900 block Quartzville Road. According to Sheriff’s log, caller reported confronting a fisherman about where he was fishing. Fisherman got some friends, one of whom maced caller. Fisherman and friends left area; others were told to leave. Under investigation.

11:17 p.m. – Michael Austin Hurley, 41, arrested for failure to comply on an original charge of third-degree theft, Coos Bay Police Department.

June 29

11:29 a.m. – Taylor Robert Mespelt, 20, arrested on Sweet Home Municipal Court warrants for failure to appear on an original charge of giving false information to a police officer and failure to appear on an original charge of second-degree theft, Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.

1:27 p.m. – Caller reported bicycle stolen from campground in 45900 block Highway 20. Report taken.

2:35 p.m. – Stephen Anthony Schmidt, 39, arrested on a Sweet Home Municipal Court warrant for failure to comply on an original charge of giving false information to a police officer, Portland Police Department.

3:33 p.m. – Officer reports finding a syringe outside Subway, 1280 10th Ave. Officer responded, item seized.

7:32 p.m. – Officer found an EBT card at location, 4824 Main St. Item placed in property.

9:55 p.m. – Kirk Ferguson, 40, arrested for reckless burning, after, according to Sheriff’s Office, he told investigators he started fire because he thought people were after him. Fire got out of control. Highway 20 west of 1st Avenue. Report taken.

June 30

10:53 a.m. – Caller reported mail theft in 42300 block North River Drive.

1:17 p.m. – Caller reported speeding vehicle that continually sped past her house in 38700 Crawfordsville Drive. Asked Sheriff’s Office to document incident.

6:14 p.m. – Deputy checked on unoccupied camp located near unimproved boat ramp near Rocky Top, 48500 block Quartzville Road. Tent and tarp shelter had been erected at location, along with other camping items. Deputy left business card with note that there is no camping in that location and they needed to vacate immediately.

6:20 p.m. – Deputy spoke with female camped in 48300 block Quartzville Road. She advised that they had arrived late the previous night and were not aware area was no-camping. All formerly posted signs at location were gone. Deputy informed her of rules and camping areas. She said she would pack up and move along when male half returned from run to Sweet Home.

10:32 p.m. – Caller reported the theft of approximately $600 worth of amplifiers from boat in 44900 block Quartzville Road.

July 1

4:12 p.m. – Caller reports June 30 theft, Hilltop Market, 4824 US Highway 20. Officer responded; report taken for third-degree theft, value of $18.

4:39 p.m. – Hiker was hoping to climb to Green Peter Lookout, but did not understand rules for locked gates. She encountered logger on Green Peter 400 line, who waved to her as they passed, and a short distance later encountered active logging area and decided to turn around. When she reached the gate, it was locked. She was warned for trespass on CTC property and educated on how to look up current access to CTC properties (at http://www.cascadetimber.com/updates).

8:28 p.m. – Cody Allen Bowman cited for driving with a suspended license, 1000 block Main St. Aleece Rochelle Woods, 35, cited and released on Sweet Home Municipal warrants for failure to appear on an original charge of third-degree theft X2.

9:07 p.m. – Caller found syringe, Main Street and Clark Mill Road. Officer responded, property seized for disposal.

9:48 p.m. – Caller reports trespassing male at Safeway, 1540 Main St. Officer responded, Joshua Kealohanui Ben Leslie, 33, cited and released for second-degree criminal trespass.
