The Best in the West triathlon series, scheduled for Sept. 11-13 at Lewis Creek Park, isn’t off – yet.
Organizers Blair and Staci Bronson say they make the final call by Aug. 1.
In the meantime, they have asserted in posts on their website, http://www.bestinthewesttriathlon.com, that they are holding out, though they say it will “look different than what you are used to.”
Options include changing courses to minimize volunteers and traffic control, spacing out start times and, possibly, more loops for each segment.
They have also allowed “free waitlist” sign-ups for those who are interested in racing, but aren’t ready to pay yet. Waitlist participants will get priority.
