March 22

4:15 a.m. – Caller reported that she spooked a male attempting to break into her vehicle about 15 to 20 minutes earlier, 1000 block of 15th. Report taken. Nothing taken. Minor damage to vehicle.

7:13 a.m. – Caller reported she just caught a male stealing fuel from her neighbor’s house, 400 block of 17th. Officer checked the area. Unable to locate.

7:49 a.m. – Caller reported the theft of a firearm, 5100 block of Redwood. Report taken.

8:07 a.m. – Caller reported a male letting his dog run loose and scaring the caller, 1300 block of 45th. Officer responded. Unable to locate the male.

8:52 a.m. – Davy Anthony Phillips, 47, arrested on Linn County warrant for failure to appear on original charge of first-degree forgery, 20th and Willow. Cited and released.

10:23 a.m. – Caller reported a dog acting aggressively and jumping on the caller, 1300 block of Clark Mill. Officer unable to locate.

2:14 p.m. – Ryan Joseph Hutchinson, 32, cited for driving while suspended and driving uninsured. Vehicle impounded.

3:33 p.m. – David Melvin Buck, 26, arrested by Oregon State Police on Sweet Home warrants for failure to appear on original charges of felon in possession of a restricted weapon and second-degree criminal trespass.

3:58 p.m. – Caller reported a bicycle stolen, 1200 block of 44th. Report taken. Loss valued at $25.

5:32 p.m. – Joshua Leslie, 32, cited and released in field for third-degree theft, first-degree criminal trespass and second-degree criminal trespass, 1540 Main St., Safeway. Caller had reported a male stealing beer and salami.

6:55 p.m. – Caller reported that someone dumped garbage on land managed by Cascade Timber Consulting, 27000 block of Scott Mountain Road. Deputy identified the owner of the garbage and learned that her son was supposed to take it to a transfer station. The son immediately removed the garbage from CTC property.

7:11 p.m. – Lacy Edmiston, 27, cited for speeding, 77 mph in a 55-mph zone.

9:37 p.m. – Stephen Gregory, 53, cited and released in field for felon in possession of a firearm, second-degree criminal mischief and Albany warrant for failure to appear on original charges of harassing communication, third-degree criminal mischief and second-degree criminal trespass, 1300 block of Poplar. Caller had reported two males physically fighting.

March 21

6:43 a.m. – Vehicle towed as abandoned, 900 block of Poplar.

7:25 a.m. – Allen Ray Blankenship, 25, arrested for possession of methamphetamine, 1540 Main St., Safeway.

8:21 a.m. – Kenra Lynne Montoya, 21, arrested on Sweet Home warrant for second-degree criminal trespassing; Lebanon warrant for probation violation; Polk County warrant for probation violation and possession of methamphetamine; and new charges of possession and distribution of methamphetamine, heroin and a schedule three controlled substance, 2405 Main St., 7-Eleven. Aaron Leopold Lovato, 26, arrested for possession and distribution of methamphetamine and heroin.

9:42 a.m. – Caller reported dogs barking constantly, 1100 block of 2nd. Officer responded. Unable to contact anyone at location.

10:31 a.m. – Caller reported that a male is letting his dog run loose and the dog is barking and being aggressive, 3000 block of Main. The caller said the owner was yelling at the caller for making the dog bark. Officer contacted the male. The dog was taken inside and was no longer an issue.

11:54 a.m. – Report taken for menacing, 48400 block of Highway 20, Cascadia.

12:06 p.m. – Caller reported the theft of a dark blue women’s Schwinn three-speed bicycle worth $250. Bike was left outside a camp trailer at River Bend Campground. It was not locked. Report taken.

12:52 p.m. – A female with an injured ankle was rescued from Horse Rock hiking trail and transported to hospital for treatment, 24200 block of West Brush Creek.

2:02 p.m. – Oregon State Police reported a firearms denial, 1980 Main St., Bi-Mart.

5:16 p.m. – Officer located and seized stolen plates, 5900 block of Main.

6:02 p.m. – Lester Lee Hendrix, 44, arrested on two Sweet Home warrants for failure to appear on original charge of criminal driving while suspended, Linn County.

6:37 p.m. – Caller reported a pellet from a pellet gun just hit her window, leaving a chip, 600 block of 17th. Officer responded. Unknown who was shooting with a pellet gun.

7:39 p.m. – Caller reported a male steeling sunglasses, 1810 Main St., Main Street Market. Report taken. Loss valued at $15.

9:04 p.m. – Caller had video showing thefts on Jan. 31 and Feb. 19, 621 Main St., Thriftway. In the first, a female stole a rawhide chew for dogs; in the second, a male stole a Twix candy bar. Report taken.

March 20

1:05 a.m. – Caller reported a small dog keeps coming into her yard and barking at her house, waking her up multiple times. The caller tried to chase off the dog, but it returned. Officer responded. The dog had no chip or collar. Caller to contact police the following day if she was able to locate the owner.

3:29 a.m. – Caller reported a male making loud noises, 621 Main St., Thriftway. Caller believed he was trying to break into something. Male then got into a vehicle and parked in front of the location. Officer responded. He said he was trying to get a vending machine to work. Officer located a stolen plate. Plate seized and returned to the Division of Motor Vehicles.

10:53 a.m. – Keirstyn Marie Penix, 23, cited for no license, 4100 block of Main.

1:54 p.m. – Olivia Mae Kilpatrick, 37, cited for driving while suspended, 2200 block of Main.

3:17 p.m. – Caller took a small black and white boxer terrier she found off Main Street into the Police Department. Dispatcher advised that the department is not accepting animals in its kennel.

3:18 p.m. – Caller reported a white puppy wandered into the caller’s yard, 400 block of 12th. Dispatcher advised that the Police Department is not handling animal calls at this time.

4:04 p.m. – Caller reported that a male attempted to break into the pop machine during the morning, damaging and moving it, 621 Main St., Thriftway. Report taken.

5:06 p.m. – Franklin Luster Cutbirth, 38, cited and released in field on Lebanon warrant for contempt of court and Sweet home warrant for failure to appear on original charge of second-degree criminal mischief, Long and 18th.

7:16 p.m. – Caller reported a generator stolen from a carport, 1100 block of 46th. Report taken. Loss valued at $300.

7:34 p.m. – Caller reported a shoplifter left in a light blue Audi, 621 Main St., Thriftway. Report taken. Loss estimated at $40 to $50.

8:05 p.m. – Caller reported a male left without paying for items, 621 Main St., Thriftway. Report taken. Loss valued at $5.

8:54 p.m. – Caller reported a male left without paying for items, 621 Main St., Thriftway. Report taken. Loss valued at $10.

9:37 p.m. – Jaycee Ryan McClurg, 32, arrested by Oregon State Police on Sweet Home warrant for failure to comply on original call of driving under the influence.

March 19

4:56 a.m. – Caller reported seeing a male sneak up to a residence and take a black scooter, 1800 block of Ulex. Officer responded. No contact at the residence. Officer left a business card and checked the area for the male. Officer unable to locate.

10:16 a.m. – Caller reported that someone hit her car while she was in the store, 1980 Main St., Bi-Mart. Caller needed a case number for insurance and did not want a criminal investigation.

10:20 a.m. – Deputy located two RVs parked at a campsite at milepost 18.5, 49000 block of Quartzville. They were unoccupied and possibly abandoned. Arrangements to be made with U.S. Bureau of Land Management for removal. Contact with owner was attempted several times.

1:18 p.m. – Cameron Michael Wark, 30, cited and released in field for second-degree criminal trespass in connection to a different report, Sweet Home warrant for failure to comply on original charge of third-degree theft and three Linn County warrants for failure to appear on original charge of possession of methamphetamine and a criminal citation, 22nd and Long. Caller had reported a bicycle-versus-vehicle collision. Officer assisted with the exchange of information.

3:24 p.m. – Caller reported falling victim to a phone scam, 1200 block of Clark Mill. Officer contacted the caller by phone and advised him of his options.

4 p.m. – Caller reported three juveniles in a vehicle threw drinks at him then spend off, 5th and Elm. Officer unable to locate.

4:30 p.m. – James Daniel McClintock, 45, turned himself in on a warrant for failure to appear on original charge of harassment, 1950 Main St., Sweet Home Police Department. Cited and released.

4:35 p.m. – Report taken for identity theft, 40300 block of Crawfordsville Drive.

5:26 p.m. – Caller reported two people camped in their vehicle on a wooded trail, 45th and Osage. Officer contacted male and female occupants and advised them it was private property and they should move along.

6:30 p.m. – Caller reported a loose dog, 400 block of Manzanita. Information noted. Caller given a phone number for Linn County Animal Control.

7:52 p.m. – Robert Michael Butterfield, 32, cited and released in field on Linn County warrant for failure to appear on original charge of possession of heroin, 1540 Main St., Safeway.

9:11 p.m. – Ryan Hutchinson, 32, cited and released in field on Linn County warrant for probation violation and two counts of failure to appear, Chevron.

9:36 p.m. – Caller reported a loose dog, 1600 block of Long. Information noted. Caller advised to contact Linn County Animal Control with further concerns.

11:14 p.m. – Heather Elaine Richards, 39, cited and released in field on Linn County warrants for three counts of failure to appear, Lebanon warrant for failure to appear on two criminal citations and Albany warrant for failure to appear on original charge of third-degree theft, 400 block of Elm.

11:46 p.m. – Machaelray Jensen, 39, cited and released in field on Sweet Home warrants for failure to appear on original charges of second-degree criminal trespass and second-degree criminal mischief, Northside Park.

March 18

2:03 p.m. – Two-vehicle crash, 1000 block of Main. Report taken. No citations. Minor injuries reported, but no one transported by medics.

2:11 p.m. – Caller reported juveniles inside a secured playground, Hawthorne Elementary School. Officer contacted juveniles and advised them not to climb over or under locked gates. Juveniles left the property.

4:50 p.m. – Chaylan Dale Tosta, 38, arrested for restraining order violation and second-degree criminal trespass, 1800 block of Vine. Caller had reported a male talking to himself on her property. Second caller had reported a male acting strangely and hiding behind a building on mill property.

5:32 p.m. – Caller reported her dog was attacked two days earlier, 800 block of Dogwood. Officer responded. Both involved dogs had gotten loose and fought each other during the incident. Caller just wanted information documented.

March 17

10:09 p.m. – Caller reported a vehicle hit his door, and the driver did not want to exchange information, 1980 Main St., Bi-Mart. Information noted.

10:40 a.m. – Ariel Shanea Kaping, 26, arrested on Sweet Home warrant for failure to comply on original charge of theft of lost or mislaid property, 1950 Main St., Sweet Home Police Department. Cited and released.

3:53 p.m. – Karie Lutz, 46, arrested for harassment, 1000 block of Red Baron Lane.

3:56 p.m. – Caller reported two stray dogs near Cascadia State Park. Caller reported they appeared to live nearby. No one was home. Animal Control to address the matter with the owner at a later time for licensing and dog at large.

4:40 p.m. – Caller went up Quartzville Road to look for a rock climbing area, 46400 block of Quartzville. Caller found it on Google maps, parked in a pull out on the Middle Santiam 300 and walked down. Cascade Timber Consulting closed all gates in the area in the meantime to restrict access. Deputy let out and warned the caller.

5:32 p.m. – Sheena Nicole Olsen, 35, arrested on Sweet Home warrant for failure to appear on original charge of reckless driving, Deschutes County.

6:10 p.m. – Larry Dennison, 68, cited for dog as a public nuisance, 16th and Dogwood. Caller had reported a Doberman pinscher chasing him. Dog was in its own yard upon officer arrival.

6:30 p.m. – Jason Tenbusch, 48, cited for open container of alcohol, 1800 block of Ames Creek. Caller ahd reported two intoxicated males who appeared to be fighting verbally.

6:32 p.m. – Callers reported a male and female physically fighting, 4100 block of Main. The male left on foot, and the female attempted to follow him. Officer contacted both. Not a mandatory arrest. No injuries. Both were warned for disorderly conduct, gathered belongings and left the location.

6:52 p.m. – Callers reported multiple juveniles on the roof of Oak Heights Elementary School and a tan Honda spinning cookies in the parking lot, 605 Elm St. Officer contacted juveniles who denied the driving complaint. All were warned and left the location.

6:56 p.m. – Prestin Hugley, 36, cited and released in field on Sweet Home warrant for failure to appear on original charge of failure to perform the duties of a driver when property is damaged, 406 16th Ave.

8:07 p.m. – James Riggs, 47, cited for driving uninsured and driving while suspended, 4th and Holley.

10:52 p.m. – Abandoned vehicle posted for removal, 900 block of Poplar.

March 16

7:32 a.m. – Caller reported that someone broke into his building, took all the car keys and stole a car, 1801 Main St., All Star Auto. Report taken.

8:53 a.m. – Caller reported that someone broke into the high school auto shop at about 10 p.m. the previous night, 1641 Long St. Report taken. Loss valued at $800.

10:16 a.m. – Caller reported a vehicle parked on the street for more than a week, 200 block of Elm. Officer left a voicemail for the owner, requesting it be moved by the following day or it would be posted for removal.

11:39 a.m. – Caller reported a vehicle with broken windows parked on the street, 4400 block of Airport Road. Vehicle tagged for removal.

2:57 p.m. – Ryan Joseph Hutchinson, 32, cited and released in field for second-degree criminal trespass, 4800 block of Main. Caller had reported a male threatening another male with a crowbar.

3:56 p.m. – Caller reported the theft of a mountain bike, 28900 block of Weatherly.

5:37 p.m. – Tommy Joseph Lee Burke, 41, arrested for second-degree criminal trespass and probation violation, 5200 block of Redwood. Transported to Linn County Jail. Caller had reported a male who kept coming onto her property and neighbor’s property and talking to her children.

8:30 p.m. – Caller reported an alarm, 1800 block of 18th. A shop door was open upon officer arrival. Shop was clear and door secured.

9:13 p.m. – Caller reported an aggressive dog jumping on her car and her kids, 400 block of Oak Terrace. Dog returned to owner. Owner warned for the dog’s aggression toward others.
