Two suspects, one from Sweet Home, have been arraigned for what authorities describe as a Lebanon-area kidnapping, reported in December 2018.
Jacob Reginald Bliss of Sweet Home was charged Dec. 17 and arraigned Dec. 19 for first-degree kidnapping, fourth-degree assault, menacing and coercion based on a secret indictment by a Linn County grand jury.
Theresa Christina Alberts of Philomath, formerly of Sweet Home, was charged on Dec. 17 and arraigned Dec. 26 for charges of first-degree kidnapping, fourth-degree assault and menacing based on a secret indictment by a Linn County grand jury.
According to the indictment, the incident occurred between Dec. 18 and Dec. 24, 2018 and involved a female Lebanon victim in her mid-30s in the Lebanon area.
Sheriff Jim Yon said the victim had been tied up inside a residence.
Bliss is scheduled for a pre-trial conference at 9:30 a.m. on Jan. 9 in Linn County Circuit Court.
He also faces trial in a separate kidnapping case at 9:30 a.m. Jan. 7-9 in Linn County Circuit Court in an April Sweet Home case.
Alberts is scheduled for a pre-trial conference at 8:30 a.m. on Jan. 13 in Linn County Circuit Court.
