A capacity crowd got serious Saturday at the 16th annual Trees for Scholarships auction, giving what organizer MarySue Reynolds said was the “very best year ever.”
“We grossed $43,500,” Reynolds said, adding that expenses to put on the event run about $8,000. The 16 Christmas trees, decorated by local designers, sold for prices ranging from $600 to $4,000.
