2:54 a.m. – Deputies responded to a motor home blocking the roadway, 27100 block of High Deck. With the assistance of numerous loggers and truck drivers, they moved the motor home from the roadway.
Aug. 18
3:31 a.m. – Matthew James Wood, 28, cited on Sweet Home warrant for failure to comply on original charge of harassment, Albany.
11:02 a.m. – Caller reported a neighbor’s dog barking nonstop, 2600 block of Kalmia. Owner warned for violating city ordinance.
11:27 a.m. – Caller reported his vehicle was hit while at Safeway, 1540 Main St. Information noted at caller’s request.
2:06 p.m. – Caller reported people living in a motor home parked on the street, Poplar and 12th. Officer contacted the owner, who said it would be moved the next day.
4:07 p.m. – Caller reported a homeless family parked on his property, 900 block of Main. Caller wanted them trespassed. Officer contacted the family, which left the location.
4:09 p.m. – Caller reported he came home to find a possibly intoxicated male inside his residence, 3224 Main St., South Fork manufactured home park. Officer responded. The male was having mental issues. The caller did not wish to pursue charges. Medics evaluated the man. Male given courtesy ride to Police Department.
6:24 p.m. – Deputies responded to a report of an assault that occurred the previous night at a party, 28500 block of Highway 20. The investigation is ongoing, and a suspect has been identified.
8:08 p.m. – Caller reported a dog running loose in the trailer park, 3137 Main St. Officer located and warned the owner for dog at large.
8:24 p.m. – Jason Milton Dalebout, 45, cited on Sweet Home warrant for failure to comply on original charge of second-degree criminal trespass, Lebanon.
10:32 p.m. – Samuel Armstrong Monroe, 42, cited on Sweet Home warrant for failure to comply on original charge of misdemeanor driving while suspended, Lebanon.
Aug. 17
12:50 a.m. – Officer seized a store banner from a male, 3200 block of Main.
1:16 a.m. – David Harry Peter Johnson, 42, cited and released in field on Linn County warrant for possession of methamphetamine, Cedar and 18th. Report taken for restraining order violation. Caller had reported hearing something that sounded like gunshots. Officer contacted two persons who advised they saw fireworks in the area.
2:56 a.m. – Deputy responded to a non-injury single-vehicle crash where the vehicle left the road at a low speed, 25000 block of Brush Creek. No injuries. Some body damage to the passenger side of the vehicle.
9:25 a.m. – Terry Lynn Ballweber, 55, arrested for second-degree criminal trespass and Lebanon warrant for probation violation on original charge of third-degree theft, 1400 Nandina St. Cited and released. Caller had reported a male breaking into the house where the caller was working and sleeping inside.
10:13 a.m. – Caller reported a loose dog running in and out of traffic, 2600 block of Long. Officer unable to catch dog. Owner notified. Owner to attempt to catch the dog.
11:30 a.m. – Caller reported a male grabbed his dog by the head and shook it and the caller has seen the male abuse the dog in the past, 1500 block of Long. Officer contacted the male. The male said he picked up the dog by its paws. The dog did not appear injured. Officer advised to call with any further complaints.
11:55 a.m. – Caller reported that a male, against whom she has a restraining order, has called and texted her, 1950 Main St., Sweet Home Police Department. Report taken to be forwarded to the district attorney for review.
2:57 p.m. – Deputy located two illegal camps on ACE property, 44900 block of Quartzville.
3:30 p.m. – William Phillips, 36, cited for driving while suspended and driving uninsured, Long near 18th.
5:48 p.m. – Caller reported two males fishing in a no-fishing zone, Wiley Creek park. Officer contacted multiple individuals and advised them of the complaint. They thought the no-fishing zone was in a different location and agreed to leave the area.
6:50 p.m. – Barbara Fay Kapicka, 56, arrested for first-degree criminal trespass, 1000 block of Long.
7:29 p.m. – Caller found a wallet, 2000 Main St., McDonald’s. Item placed in found property.
8:29 p.m. – Caller reported his neighbor had been neglecting his cat, 1300 block of Clark Mill. Officer responded. No one answered the door. The cat did not appear to be in distress, and it had several open windows in the house that it could use to escape if it wanted.
8:46 p.m. – Caller reported her car was keyed while she was in the store, 1301 Main St., Sweet Home Liquor. Report taken. Loss valued at $500.
10:01 p.m. – Ricky Dale Becknal, 60, cited for driving while suspended and driving uninsured, 1300 block of Main.
10:43 p.m. – Caller reported that a male attempted to hit her with his truck, 45th and Main. Officer unable to locate the vehicle. Information noted.
11:36 p.m. – Lester Lee Hendrix Jr., 44, arrested on Sweet Home warrants for failure to appear on two original charges of misdemeanor driving while suspended and one original charge of hit and run, Linn County. Transported to Linn County Jail.
Aug. 16
1:53 a.m. – Caller reported someone lying in the bushes, 1101 13th Ave., Sweet Home Public Library. Officer responded. Male was heavily intoxicated. Officer transported him to his residence and left him in the care of his father.
6:34 a.m. – Officer located a broken post for a “No Parking” sign in Upper Sankey Park, 877 14th Ave. Report taken. Damage estimated at $100.
7:09 a.m. – Caller reported that a medium dog with white and black spots won’t stay out of the middle of the street, 1900 block of Long. Officer unable to locate owner or dog.
8:40 a.m. – Caller reported two personal checks stolen out of a mailbox, 28900 block of Liberty. Report taken.
11:43 a.m. – Caller reported cows out on the caller’s property, 43800 block of Wiley Creek. Deputy spoke to the caller and cattle owner. They determined that no criminal charges would be pursued at this time, but if the cattle get out again in the next year, the caller would pursue this and the new charge for livestock at large.
1:36 p.m. – Samantha Christine Mansell, 27, turned herself in on Sweet Home warrant for failure to comply on original charge of second-degree criminal trespass, 1950 Main St., Sweet Home Police Department. Cited and released.
3:35 p.m. – Caller found 20 to 25 Whip It canisters, 49th and Airport. Caller did not know if it was of any significance. Officer seized the property for disposal.
3:58 p.m. – Caller reported a rude male, 45000 block of Quartzville Road.
3:48 p.m. – Brandon Ryan Freeman, 25, arrested for attempting to elude on foot, attempting to elude in a vehicle, interfering with a police officer, third-degree escape, resisting arrest, Linn County warrant for probation violation on original charge of possession of methamphetamine and Sweet Home warrant for failure to comply on original charge of third-degree theft and cited for driving while suspended, 18th and Main. Transported to Linn County Jail.
4:14 p.m. – Caller reported a small dog locked in a vehicle with the windows up, 1540 Main St., Safeway. Officer located the vehicle. The windows were down. The dog was not in distress.
7:22 p.m. – Caller reported a dog in the caller’s yard barking, 200 block of Osage. Officer unable to catch dog.
8:24 p.m. – Caller reported an arrow was shot at his back door, 100 block of 9th. Report taken for unlawful use of a weapon.
10:37 p.m. – Caller reported that a male and female who were trespassed were at location, 1200 block of 23rd. Report taken.
Aug. 15
1:28 a.m. – Colby James Decleve, 25, arrested for third-degree theft, 880 22nd Ave., Sweet Home Junior High. Cited and released.
4:37 a.m. – Davy Anthony Phillips, 46, turned himself in on Sweet Home warrant for failure to comply on original charge of third-degree theft and Linn County warrant for third-degree theft and failure to appear on a criminal citation, 1950 Main St., Sweet Home Police Department. Cited and released.
10:16 a.m. – Spencer Dean Borthwick, 25, cited on Sweet Home warrant for failure to appear on original charge of initiating a false report, Linn County Jail.
11:27 a.m. – Caller reported a loose dog in the area, Elm and Mountain View. Officer unable to locate.
12:36 p.m. – Caller reported finding stolen mail under Bates Bridge, 40800 block of McDowell Creek Drive.
1:13 p.m. – Caller reported that dogs living in a neighbor’s yard were pushing fence posts trying to get to the caller’s dogs. Officer advised the neighbor of the concern. The neighbor said the issue would be fixed and there should be no further issues.
2:32 p.m. – Caller located a lost dog, 400 block of Main. Dog placed in kennel. Linn County Dog Control notified.
2:34 p.m. – James Jones, 36, cited for driving uninsured, Highway 228 city limits.
4:01 p.m. – Joey Persinger, 26, arrested on Sweet Home warrant for failure to comply on original charge of third-degree theft, 600 block of Main, Sweet Home Family Medicine. Cited and released.
5:57 p.m. – Callers reported homeless subjects were set up to camp behind Steelhead Gym. Officer responded. A responsible person for the property was contacting the individuals and allowed them to stay for the night.
7 p.m. – Caller reported a dog left in a vehicle with the windows barely cracked for at least 30 minutes, 1540 Main St., Safeway. Officer responded. Windows were rolled down adequately.
8:08 p.m. – Caller reported a neighbor’s dog bit her granddaughter, 300 block of 11th. Dog quarantined.
10:38 p.m. – Amber Ondre Dawson, 33, cited and released in field on Linn County warrant for possession of methamphetamine, and Harry Junior Vrell, 80, cited and released in field on Linn County warrant for felony driving under the influence, 3224 Main St., South Fork manufactured home park.
11:44 p.m. – Terra Sue Kopperud, 36, cited and released in field on Linn County Justice Court warrant for probation violation and contempt of court, 400 block of Maple.

12:02 a.m. – Two 13-year-old juveniles warned for curfew and released to a parent, 800 block of 14th.
10:37 a.m. – Multiple callers reported a cat hit by a vehicle, 1100 block of 27th. Officer responded. Cat dispatched.
10:44 a.m. – Caller reported loose dogs in the area, 1530 Tamarack St., Mountain Shadows. Officer to check area as time allows.
10:51 a.m. – Cheri Lynn Olson, 47, turned herself in on Sweet Home warrant for failure to comply on original charge of driving under the influence, 1950 Main St., Sweet Home Police Department. Cited and released.
10:56 a.m. – Caller reported a male, against whom the caller has a restraining order, called him vulgar names, 3100 block of Main. Officer contacted all involved and was unable to establish that a restraining order violation occurred. Report taken and forwarded to the district attorney.
12:13 p.m. – Caller reported piles of garbage at a vacant house, property next to Sun Motel. Caller referred to code enforcement.
3:12 p.m. – Caller reported a male passed out on the steps of the Sweet Home Public Library, 1101 13th Ave. Officer contacted the male, who denied any medical need. The male moved on.
3:48 p.m. – Caller reported a debit card stolen out of her vehicle, 1400 block of Westwood. Report taken.
3:54 p.m. – Caller reported a male took bags of cans and bottles, 1000 block of Long. Bags of cans and bottles recovered. Officer to watch for the male.
4:32 p.m. – Caller reported a parked truck with a door open and no one around, 13th and Nandina. Officer responded. Nobody around the vehicle. Officer shut the door.
6:34 p.m. – Caller reported a male doing door-to-door sales, 44th and Citabria. Unknown if the male had a peddler’s permit. Officer contacted the male and advised of the process to obtain a peddler’s permit.
8:06 p.m. – Karla Linn Philbee, 31, arrested for driving under the influence, 1800 block of Main. Cited and released.
9:01 p.m. – Caller reported he dropped his backpack and when he returned, it was gone, 5400 block of Main. Report taken for theft.
9:57 p.m. – Caller reported a cougar in the area, 13th and Nandina. Officer checked the area. Unable to locate any cougars.
Aug. 13
12:27 a.m. – Caller reported a female threatening to stab people with needles, 1200 block of 12th. Officer contacted the female, who agreed to leave the area.
1:24 a.m. – Allen Dale Ensley, 30, cited on Sweet Home warrant for failure to appear on original charge of second-degree criminal mischief, Douglas County.
2:56 a.m. – Joshua Martin Hughes, 17, cited for no license, 12th and Ironwood.
3:28 a.m. – Kaby Patricia Keith-Heidt, 23, arrested on Marion County warrant for first-degree theft and possession of meth, 10th and Long. Transported to Linn County Jail.
10:19 a.m. – Chantel Jeanette Scott, 38, cited on Sweet Home warrant for failure to appear on original charge of second-degree criminal trespass, Linn County Jail.
11:46 a.m. – Patrick John Ward, 38, arrested on Lebanon warrant for contempt of court and probation violation on original charge of driving while suspended, 435 Oak Terrace. Cited and released.
12:42 p.m. – Caller reported that she has paid more than $2,000 in Amazon gift cards on Facebook Marketplace and realized it was a scam, 38300 block of Crawfordsville. Report taken.
2:32 p.m. – Caller reported that a neighbor leaves a cat outside on a leash for hours at a time without food or water, 3100 block of Main. Officer responded. A cat was resting comfortably in the shade upon arrival. Officer contacted the owner, who said the cat had only been outside a short while.
3:25 p.m. – A male collapsed in the lobby of the Sweet Home Police Department, 1950 Main St. Medics evaluated the male, who refused transport to the hospital. A friend transported the male home.
3:30 p.m. – Caller reported seeing juveniles light a fire, 1530 Main St., Santiam Drug. Officer contacted juveniles who said they lit a piece of cardboard on fire and then put it out. Officer advised them of the complaint. The juveniles walked home.
4:45 p.m. – Caller reported a Hawaiian fighting stick was taken, 1300 block of 22nd. Report taken. Loss valued at $500.
5:39 p.m. – Deputy located a motorcycle-versus-deer crash, 27600 block of Highway 20. Motorcycle operator transported to hospital for evaluation. The right eastbound lane was blocked for about 20 minutes.
6:31 p.m. – Caller reported a broken water line and the road was flooding, Highway 228 and Rowell Hill. Officer located a broken sprinkler near the “Welcome to Sweet Home” sign. Public Works advised.
7:57 p.m. – Caller reported that someone ran into his mailbox, 1300 block of Clark Mill. Officer responded. The mailbox appeared to have been pushed over, not hit by a car. Information noted.
8:19 p.m. – Caller found a bunch of mail in the ditch, 4700 block of Airport. Officer collected the items.
9:03 p.m. – Keith Lyle Peterson, 52, cited and released in field on Lebanon warrant for probation violation, 1641 Long St., Sweet Home High School.
10:39 p.m. – Matthew Ian Nere, 19, cited for failure to carry proof of insurance, 4th and Juniper.
Aug. 12
7:43 a.m. – Caller reported a tent set up in a backyard where the homeowners had not been home since April, 1100 block of 18th. Officer contacted a female who said he had permission. Dispatch spoke with the homeowner, who requested the male be trespassed. Male trespassed and set on his way.
10:10 a.m. – Caller reported a male sleeping in the back seat of a blue vehicle, 1800 block of Tamarack. Officer contacted the male, who was fine and just waiting on a friend to return with fuel. The male was listed as a runaway out of Coos County. The male is of age. Coos County advised.
11:14 a.m. – Caller reported a black BMX bike stolen, 44900 block of Quartzville. The bike had been left out and unlocked at a campsite. Report taken. Loss valued at $500.
11:21 a.m. – Caller received information that people were squatting at a residence, 1400 block of Nandina. Officer contacted two males, who were trespassed at the caller’s request.
12:13 p.m. – Caller found mail on the ground, 47th and Airport. Placed in found property.
1:26 p.m. – Caller reported that a juvenile sent her son a video of him holding a firearm and saying he was “going to drop him,” 1530 Tamarack St., Mountain Shadows. Information noted at the caller’s request. Caller also wanted the juveniles counseled.
3:48 p.m. – Caller reported that her ex-boyfriend went into her house and took items while she was out of town, 1200 block of 2nd. Report taken. Loss valued at $155.
5:15 p.m. – Caller reported a single-vehicle crash, 900 block of Mountain View. No property damaged in the crash. No injuries.
5:58 p.m. – Gilbert Alonzo Martinez, 43, arrested on Sweet Home warrant for second-degree criminal trespass, Albany.
6:07 p.m. – Amber Dawn Barton, 40, arrested on Sweet Home warrant for failure to comply on original charge of third-degree theft, Albany.
7:25 p.m. – Caller found a wallet, Foster Lake Market. Placed in found property.
8:18 p.m. – Caller reported an old friend stole her rake then left a similar rake behind, 27200 block of High Deck. She said she would handle this situation by herself.
