The Santiam Four-Wheel Drive Association has canceled its annual Mudfest for 2019.
The event, usually held the first Saturday in March, draws about 1,500 people per year to play in the mud at a location near Holley.
“The organization thought it would be best to say that the Santiam Four-Wheel Drive Association will not be having our annual mud event this year,” said Nancy Frick, a member of the organization who is heavily involved in organizing the annual festival. “But we’re planning one in the future. We’re hoping to be able to do one for next year.”
Frick said she could not speak on behalf of the board about why the event was canceled.
Information about future events will be posted on the association’s website, themud.com, she said.
