Search ends in 2 arrests

Two persons were arrested during execution of a narcotics-related search warrant at 1435 22nd Ave. last week, Sweet Home Police Chief Jeff Lynn said.

Arrested were: Robert Lee Drafahl, 62, for distribution of methamphetamine within 1,000 feet of a school and possession of methamphetamine; and Sherri Lynn Smith, 42, on a Sweet Home warrant for failure to comply on an original charge of frequenting a place where controlled substances are used or sold; Lebanon warrants for failure to appear on an original charge of driving under the influence and contempt of court on an original charge of probation violation; and a Linn County supervisory detention warrant.

The investigation stemmed from concerns within the neighborhood about frequent short-stay traffic at the residence, Lynn said.

During the search of the residence, detectives located and seized dealer amounts of methamphetamine, money, scales, packaging material, drug paraphernalia and a firearm, Lynn said.

The investigation is continuing and additional charges are pending, Lynn said. Assisting were Albany and Lebanon police, and the Linn County Sheriff’s Office.
