Huskies narrowly slip past Elmira, advance to playoffs

Brandon Keenon, buried at the bottom of this pile, scores the winning touchdown in the Huskies’ second overtime victory over Elmira this season tonight (Oct. 31) in a play-in game. Tied 0-0 at halftime, the Huskies returned with a strong drive that ended with an Elmira pick. The Falcons drove in a touchdown to get ahead 7-0. No one was able to score until Keenon carried it into the end zone with just 50 seconds left on the clock. In overtime, the Falcons advanced quickly to the goal line, the Huskies holding them off three times at the line before recovering a fumble. Elmira held the Huskies off a couple of times on the 1-yard line before the Huskies and Keenon were able to break through into the end zone, winning 13-7. The Huskies advance to the state playoffs, with their opponent still to be determined.
