Independence man dies after suffering diabetic problem in Foster Lake

A 33-year-old Independence man died Sunday, July 21, after suffering a diabetic problem while in a boat on Foster Lake, according to the Linn County Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff’s Sgt. Dave Opel said Jeremy Marshall, 33, was with family members in a boat on the lake Sunday afternoon. He said Marshall was an insulin-dependent diabetic who suffered from high blood pressure and kidney disease, for which he received dialysis treatments and “numerous medications.”
