Ironman triathlete and motivational speaker Jay Hewitt, who has Type 1 diabetes, will speak from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 19, in the Reimer Conference Room at Samaritan Albany General Hospital, 1046 Sixth Ave. SW, Albany.
Hewitt, who was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes as a law student in 1991, is a three-time member of the U.S. National Team for long distance triathlon. The event is held in honor of Diabetes Awareness Month,
