Sweet Home’s boys track team was trailing Banks in the 4A state championships Saturday when seniors Dakotah Keys and Jake Comstock stepped into the starting blocks for the 110-meter hurdles.
Keys was expected to win the event and Comstock had the third-fastest time coming out of the preliminary races the day before. But Trevor Close of Cottage Grove had finished a lot closer to Keys in the prelims than Comstock.
