Jessie Lea James, 86, of Albany (formerly of Sweet Home), died April 4, 2009.
She was born Feb. 28, 1923 in Leslie County, Ky. to Burley and Eva (Begley) Wooton.
She was raised in Kentucky and moved to Oregon in 1942 with her first husband, Arthur Poe, who worked in the woods while she raised their three daughters. That marriage ended in divorce. She later married a local truck mechanic, Walter Brandt in 1955.
