Todd Branson, of Sweet Home, was cited for no valid deer tag and borrowing a deer tag on Oct. 31.
State Police Trooper Andy Heider received an anonymous tip that Branson had killed a ?monster blacktail buck? on Oct. 29 and had someone else tag the deer, according to the State Police. Heider contacted Branson at his work.
Branson admitted he had killed a buck and did not have a tag, Heider said.
Heider seized the buck, which was caped out for a shoulder mount, at Branson?s residence. He also seized the rifle used to kill the animal, along with the meat, which was donated to charity.
A citation will be issued against the person whose tag was used, Heider said.
