Olive Orrilla Wentworth

Jan. 3, 1903 – Sept. 13, 2005

Olive Orrilla Wentworth, 102, died Sept. 13. She was born on Jan. 3, 1903 in Red Lodge, Mont., to Clark and Parathena Caroline (Dillingham) Ellsworth.

She married Harry L. Jewett in the early 1920s; their marriage which later ended in divorce. She later married Donald A. Wentworth and they were together until he died in 1999.

In her lifetime, she had seen many changes, everything from the Roaring Twenties, the Great Depression, and two world wars. She witnessed technological advances from refrigeration to computers and the revolution from horse and buggy through the space age.

Mrs. Wentworth led a full life. She was a blessing to each person who knew her. She was an avid poet, and enjoyed Bible studies and fly fishing. She was beloved by her grandchildren, David Jewett, Leola Jewett, and Dena Wixson, who all live in the area.

She is survived by her son Harry Donald Jewett, step-sons Donald, Harold, and Victor Wentworth, 13 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren, and 27 great-great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, four siblings, and her husband Donald Arthur Wentworth.

All are welcome to join us in a celebration of her life as the matriarch of a tribe. Memorial service was held Sept. 22 at the Seventh Day Adventist Church. Final burial will be in Granite Falls, Wash.
