Tuesday, the Sweet Home Economic Development Group reported that projected proceeds from the 2004 Oregon Jamboree would be $155,000.
In addition to the money raised by the Jamboree, other community organizations raised about $56,000 through their involvement in the Jamboree. Those groups include the Boys and Girls Club, the City of Sweet Home, School District 55, the Kiwanis Club, the Rotary Club, the Church of Christ and the Sweet Home Senior Center.
Plans for the use of 2004 Jamboree proceeds include granting $15,500 to the Sweet Home Community Foundation for a total of $44,000 donate since 2002. The remainder of the proceeds will be held in reserve to advance SHEDG’s five-year strategic plan.

Recent and ongoing SHEDG projects include:
– Funding the construction of an underground automatic irrigation system for Sweet Home High School athletic fields.
— Sponsoring monthly Breakfast Club meetings.
— Marketing Sweet Home with media advertising, Internet, event booths and print materials.
— Sponsors and maintains the sweethomeoregon.com website.
— Produces the Oregon Jamboree and Arts and Crafts Fair.
— Sponsored the kick-off celebration for the Scenic Byway.
–Provided funding for the completion of the Shea Point rest stop project.
— Researching the feasibility of a land purchase for a permanent home for the Oregon Jamboree and multi-events festival site.
