Library to celebrate Children’s Book Week

National Children?s Book Week is celebrated the week of November 14 through Saturday, November 20. That is also the day the Friends of the Library will host several Oregon authors who have been invited to celebrate at the ?Lets Book? reception from 2 until 4 p.m.It appears the library will be teeming with authors and their books. Many of the authors have already donated their books for the children of Sweet Home.The goal of the library is to bring together authors and their young readers, to show children not only the joy of reading but the joy of creating books.

Please join in welcoming the authors to the library and let?s show them that Sweet Home is a warm, friendly and reading city.

Books:

Large print westerns: new ones arriving monthly?

Children?s: Five hundred new one this year?thanks to foundations who donated them ?

Non Fiction: Political discourse, digital camera how-to, medical, gardening, pruning, Lewis and Clark books and map.

Fiction: Popular authors, award winning books, mysteries, sci fi, westerns?

Videos: 1,610 now available ?average 10 added per month?

Books on Tape: 900 + available?new ones added bi monthly?

The collection of music CDs and DVDs is beginning to grow and should be available by years end. Donations are always accepted, too.

Friends of the Library will meet Monday, November 15th at 5:30pm in the Reading Room of the library. If you want to have fun, meet wonderful people and make a difference in your community, join the FOL today!
