Cops nab fugitive who was on run from multiple warrants

Linn County deputies arrested 45-year-old David Clinton Fox on Dec. 11 at a residence in the Sweet Home area on multiple outstanding state and federal warrants.

The outstanding state arrest warrants included four counts of failure to appear for attempting to elude police, three counts of failure to appear for unlawful possession of methamphetamine, unlawful use of a vehicle and reckless driving. The outstanding federal warrant was for felon in possession of a firearm.

As a result of Fox’s arrest, deputies seized a firearm that had been reported stolen to the Albany Police Department, a motorcycle reported stolen to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, methamphetamine and paraphernalia used to distribute methamphetamine.

Fox has four open cases in Linn County Circuit Court, two from 2012 and two from 2014. In one case, on June 2, 2012, Linn County deputies arrested him following a pursuit that allegedly exceeded 100 mph. Through Sweet Home, the pursuit allegedly reached 80 mph. In that case, he faces two counts of attempting to elude a police officer, reckless driving and possession of methamphetamine.

In another on June 8, 2014, deputies arrested Fox after Sweet Home police terminated a pursuit on Whiskey Butte Road. In the case he faces charges of attempting to elude a police officer and possession of methamphetamine.

He is charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and possession of methamphetamine in an Oct. 17 case and attempting to elude a police officer in a February 5, 2012 case.

Fox is scheduled for a status hearing on Dec. 29 in Linn County Circuit Court.

Fox was lodged at Linn County Jail.

The Linn County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Linn County Regional SWAT Team and the U.S. Marshal’s Office.
