Oregon State Police arrested a Halsey woman Friday afternoon, Aug. 1, following an investigation and subsequent Grand Jury indictment related to a December 2013 serious injury traffic crash on Highway 228 that involved a Crawfordsville man.
Rhonda K. Horner, 61, of Halsey, was arrested late Friday afternoon for third-degree assault. A warrant had been issued for her arrest after a Linn County grand jury indicted her on the charge in July.
Horner was lodged in the Linn County Jail.
According to OSP, at approximately 6:54 p.m. on Dec. 2, 2013, a 2006 Honda Accord four-door driven by Horner was westbound on Highway 228 near milepost 8, about one mile east of Brownsville, when it crossed the center line and collided head-on with an eastbound 2005 Chevrolet sport utility vehicle driven by 46-year old William Brady of Crawfordsville.
Brady was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
Horner was extricated by firefighters and transported by air ambulance to Sacred Heart Regional Medical Center for treatment of serious injuries.
No other information was released by OSP.
