With latest album, artist emerges as top country vocalist
The Oregon Jamboree has announced the final headliner for the 2014 festival: Jake Owen.
Owen joins Tim McGraw and Miranda Lambert for the 22nd Annual Oregon Jamboree to be held Aug. 1-3.
Owen first captured the national spotlight with his hits “Startin’ with Me,” “Don’t Think I Can’t Love You” and “Eight-Second Ride.”
His revival of the Dream Academy’s “Life in a Northern Town,” with Sugarland and Little Big Town, in 2008 earned him Grammy and Country Music Association award nominations.
Owen was recently named the American Country Awards 2012 Breakthrough Artist of the Year, adding to his nod as 2009’s Top New Male Vocalist by the Academy of Country Music after he performed in the 2009 Jamboree.
Since releasing his chart-topping album “Barefoot Blue Jean Night,” Owen has emerged as one of country music’s leading vocalists. The album has delivered three consecutive No. 1 singles, the first two of which held the top spot on the chart for multiple weeks, including the nearly double-platinum title track, the nearly platinum “Alone with You” and gold-certified “The One That Got Away.”
