Victim’s role in fire under investigation

Police are investigating a fire in which a Sweet Home woman was seriously burned on July 1 in her manufactured home.

A neighbor called the police to space 217 at Mountain Shadows Trailer Park, 1530 Tamarack St. at 6:54 p.m.

“She called and reported that the victim had just caught the victim’s house on fire, and the victim was burned,” Lynn said.

Officers located Kristie Kincaid, 36, who had been burned.

She had made several comments about wanting to harm herself,” Lynn said. Medics responded and transported her to Samaritan Lebanon Community Hospital for mental evaluation and treatment. She was transferred to the Legacy Oregon Burn Center at Legacy Emanuel Hospital in Portland.

The case is under review to see if charges are warranted, Lynn said. “What we’ll probably do is get the district attorney’s take on it.”

Potential charges could include reckless burning or arson, he said.
