Sweet Home Wrestling Coach Steve Thorpe was elected state chairman of the Oregon Wrestling Association at the group’s annual meeting Sept. 11.
Thorpe, 42, will preside over the organization, which advocates, promotes and coordinates competition for nearly all the youth and folkstyle, Greco-roman, freestyle and beach wrestling in the state under the auspices of USA Wrestling.
