The Foster Dam roadway will be closed Thursday, May 13 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers plans to attach a new wire rope on the “hopper” that transports fish over the dam. Because wild salmon and steelhead cannot cross the dam, they are trapped by personnel from the South Santiam Hatchery and hoisted over the dam via the hopper.
