John E. Seward Sr., 61, died with family present at his family home on March 9, 2010 after years of heart damage.
He was born Sept. 23, 1948 in Eugene to Elwood M. and Ruth (Huckins) Seward.
He was a father, friend, brother, husband and, to many, a mentor.
Mr. Seward worked in a number of fields, including suspended ceilings and volunteer work for Fair Share and Gleaners. He also ran an always open-door shelter.
