Golfers have rough start, but rookies are likely to improve

It wasn’t the start Sweet Home Golf Coach Tom Horn expected, but with three rookies on his varsity, things are likely to improve from the Huskies’ opening effort Thursday, March 19, at Crooked River, near Redmond.

The Huskies placed ninth out of 10 teams, all but Sweet Home from the Central Oregon area.

“It was a rough start,” Horn said. “We just played poorly.”

Summit won the tournament, with Sisters second and Crook County third.…
