William Bass, 66, of Sweet Home died Feb. 26, 2009.
He attended Salem schools. He enlisted in the Army in 1961 just before finishing high school. He reported to basic training in Tennessee and served in Germany.
After returning from the service in 1964, he lived in Lebanon, working 18 1/2 years as an assistant super at Crown-Zellerbach until the paper plant closed in the early 1980s. He…
